INSULFLEX fireproof mats provide thermal and fireproof protection for sensitive industrial equipment. Custom-designed to withstand fire up to 1200°C, they slow down the temperature rise of installations and secure industrial infrastructures in the event of fire, for a given period of time.

Concept / Technique

INSULFLEX fireproof mattresses are made up of :

  • A technical fabric envelope resistant to flames and extreme industrial environments.
  • An insulating lining to limit temperature rise and delay the spread of fire.
  • A fastening system (hooks, straps or eyelets) to ensure a secure hold on equipment.
  • Customized design, optimized using specific calculation software validated by fire tests.

These solutions are adapted to different types of fire(oil slick, gas, building, Jet Fire...), depending on the flame temperature(ISO 834, HCM), the duration of protection required(30 min, 1h...) and the nature of the equipment to be protected.

Materials used

Each insulating mattress is custom-made and therefore unique.

Our technicians define the materials to be used in response to a given problem, taking into account operating temperatures, mechanical constraints, environment and type of fire.

Fabrics

  • Polyester fabric with PVC, PU coatings
  • Unbleached or silicone-coated glass fabric, PTFE, aluminum strap coating
  • Aramid fabrics with silicone coating, PTFE
  • Steel-reinforced glass fabrics to meet mechanical constraints
  • Silica fabrics and steel-reinforced silica for high temperatures
  • NEXTEL 312 and 440 alumina fabrics for extreme temperatures

Insulation

  • Density between 10 and 160 kg/m3 depending on requirements
  • Mineral fibers: glass wool, rock wool for their thermal resistance
  • SUPERWOOL BLANKET biosoluble fibers for high temperatures
  • Microporous to cope with high temperatures and space constraints.
