STUMATITE FAMILY (Density: ~2650 Kg/m³)

Features

Stumatite (alumina silicate) is a machinable ceramic. Abrasion-resistant electrical and thermal insulator for use up to 1250°C.

Temperature range: up to 1250°C (thermal shock resistance up to 940°C).

Advantages :

  • Low thermal conductivity(1.39 W/mK to 2.67 W/mK depending on temperature).
  • High-temperature mechanical resistance,
  • Electrical insulation (except silicon carbide SiC)
  • Corrosion resistance,
  • Abrasion resistance,
  • Thermal shock resistance of porous materials and silicon carbides SiC
  • Manufacture parts without the constraints of molding

MACOR FAMILY (Mass by volume: 2520 kg/m³)

Features

Macor is a machinable ceramic with excellent electrical and thermal insulation, combined with good mechanical strength. Its lack of porosity and high dimensional stability make it a popular material for vacuum and high-precision environments.

Temperature range: continuous up to 800°C

Advantages :

  • Machinability with conventional tools (no need for post-firing).
  • No outgassing and excellent vacuum resistance.
  • Good resistance to radiation and corrosive environments.

ALUMINE FAMILY (Density: 3950 kg/m³)

Features

Alumina is a high-purity ceramic with excellent mechanical and thermal resistance, used for applications requiring high dielectric strength and wear resistance.

Temperature range: up to 1700°C.

  • High resistance to abrasion, wear, corrosion and thermal shock.
